Thank you to Family Christian for providing resources for our Missions Boxes! Stay in touch with all Family Christian has to offer by visiting them: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, tumblr, and Instagram.
The next missions opportunity is to Welcome a New Baby.
We provided the kids with these directions for their homemade gifts:
- Make 35X45 quilt or 30X30 afghans or fleece blankets.
- Booties and baby hats are nice gifts, too. You could make those with your looms.
A local organization may have specific needs, but here is a list of items that are generally needed for Newborns:
~Sleepers, gowns, undershirts, and onesies (preemie and newborn-three months)
~New Clothing
~Receiving blankets, quilts, fleece blankets, and afghans
~Socks, booties
~Bibs, burp cloths, pacifiers, and bottles
~Toiletries and wipes, regular size and trial sizes
~Diapers
~Small toys and child size Bibles
~Baby formula
We are just getting started with this one. Ceesa has made a fleece blanket and we've included a StoryBible and a Plush Musical Lamb (It plays Jesus Loves Me).
She is also getting started on an afghan.
Baby Wheel approves of this Missions idea.
