November's book share with Poppins Book Nook is In the Kitchen. We decided on Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza by Philemon Sturges. I've been using this book for years with the kids and it is one of my favorites.
Inspired by the traditional Red Hen, this chick decides to make a pizza. She is a major shopper and is a true consumer because when the cat, dog, and duck are too busy to help gather ingredients or cook the pizza, the Little Red Hen goes shopping to buy what she needs and always ends up with lots of extra things. Her pizza ends up gigantic and there is definitely enough for everyone. The cat, dog, and duck are all too ready to help eat the pizza and even clean up afterward while the Little Red Hen puts her feet up. This book is super fun for 4-8 year olds.
Here's our round up of fun to go along with Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza....

I always like the Little Red Hen books, they're just so cute.
Yep. I'm not sure what it is about this one but I adore it.:)
This sounds like a cute story! I've always loved the traditional Little Red Hen; nice to see her branch out a bit from the bread-baking, lol!
:) Yes. She works hard to make pizza too, but being in the city her hard work involves shopping. :)
Sounds like a cute story! I don't think I've read it before.... Red Hen's shopping trip sounds a lot like mine everytime I go : )
:) Luckily Poppa goes for me.
This sounds like a really fun book!
Thank you for helping to bring a spoonful of reading fun to the Poppins Book Nook this month!
The girls still remember reading it several years ago. :)
