Nature Study: Cabbage Whites


We wrapped up our butterfly study with cabbage whites.

My notes...
  • Habitat: nearly everywhere except deep woods
  • Eggs:White, laid singly on mustard, radish, broccoli, cabbage, turnip and cauliflower
  • Flight: Slow and awkward
  • Winter: Fly earlier and later than most others


Most widespread in our area and here March-October

Introduced in Canada and migrated to US. They are a garden pest.
