Plutarch was a Greek historian, traveler, magistrate, mayor, priest, biographer, and essayist. His reflections on the lives and character of famous Greeks and Romans in his Parallel Lives are very poignent. We use North's version as a part of our citizenship studies.
Plutarch's writings are at the very least meaty and we study one life a term as a family. I read to the kids and then we narrate what we are learning about these famous men's characters and choices.
