Animal Study: Bald Eagles

Ceesa wrote a bit about the Bald Eagle and made a picture.

The Bald Eagles

The white head of a Bald Eagle may make it look bald, but the name comes from the English word balde which means white. It sounds like they say, "America is free!" Benjamin (Franklin) did not like that the Bald Eagle was picked as our symbol! The wing span can be from the floor to the ceiling. When they catch fish, they swoop from the sky at 100 miles an hour!!!! Their nests are big. I mean big! They are called aeries (air-ees) and are built high in trees.
