Science Notebooks

We've been keeping a science notebook for several months now. It is where we record our experiments and ideas. Some of the experiments we complete are from books or sites that inspire us and some experiments are those we've been able to make up on our own. 

We use our notebooks to...

• make notes
• write about our experiment
• note the materials used
• document our trials and procedures 
• make charts
• record our results
• sketch
• ask questions
• record our conclusions

After reading about using science narration notebooks, we've added another dimension to our notebooks.

We've started:

• narrating and adding relevant text
• adding a detailed, labeled sketch or diagram
• observing and recording
• adding photos
• including color to our drawings
