Making a Natural Play Space

We've had an off week. Monday was a doctor's appointment an hour away and there's been sniffles and sneezles throughout the week. Off. I've spent some time with my feet up, collecting ideas. My plans are BIG. Next year, I want to remake the kids play space naturally.

They have free reign over our entire middle yard (we have several acres) that has some flat space and hills. But we also have a space for them with a playhouse, swing set, two forts, sand box, chalk for the cement, a fairy garden, water table, and a glider rocker. They have begun a collection of rocks (for their own fire pit), a flower garden, and wood for various projects.

So while it sounds great and they love it. I want to add more nature.
I see ornamental grasses, bushes, bamboo trees, and a grazing garden.
Oh and wind chimes, ropes for swinging and climbing, hammock, bird feeders, squirrel feeder, toad hotel, and lots of places to collect things.

Oh and found material stashes...sticks, branches, bark, river rocks, old bricks, shells, stumps, bamboo, and straw bales.

Oh and then stashes of tools: rakes, shovels, wrenches, pliers, hammers, wide paint brushes, wheelbarrows and wagons.

Okay so the plans may stretch over a couple of summers. :)

Wishing you homeschool blessings,
