All Through the Seasons {A Review}

"Beauty, wonder, anticipation and reverence
are worth making space for in our lives."
~from All Year Round

All Year Round: Calendar of Celebrations from Hawthorne Press is a beautiful book of festivals through the seasons
to celebrate the rhythms of the year.

The beginning of the book is set up with conversations from the authors and illustrator about seasons and festivals. The rest of the book has sections for each season, a section for all seasons, and projects, patterns, and stories to go along with each suggestion.

I agree that the speed of change seems to be increasing and I love the idea of breathing in during winter and breathing out during summer, that there are transitional times in the spring and autumn with the equinox when the length of day and night are equal.

We have a need for remembrance-there's comfort and rhythm in celebrations.

"The book is now published, but not finished.
It rests with you, the reader..."

Stay tuned: At the close of each season in the next year,
we'll be sharing a wrap-up of the celebrations at our house.

Wishing you homeschool blessings,
