We made our own silly putty last week.
It is a pretty simple recipe.
First, we put 2 tablespoons warm water in a bowl...
with 2 tablespoons white school glue.
Then we added a drop of food coloring.
We stirred it...
until it was well mixed.
Then we added 1 3/4 tablespoons borax.
It thickened quickly.
At that point,
we added it to plastic bags
and worked to mix
all of the ingredients together.
Once it formed a ball, we removed it.
Then it was time to play.
We transferred the image of the comics
onto the silly putty
by pressing it onto a picture.
We folded it in half and made popping noises
by pressing on the bubbles.
We tried some ball games,
although our putty did not bounce well.
We made sculptures...
with sequins and buttons...
and glitter.
What have you done with silly putty?
Wishing you homeschool blessings,
Bethany

I think that is about all we do with ours, too. I think I taught a lesson about polymers using paperclips...

We've made it without much bonce, too! I think I saw one recipe that suggest3ed spray starch. Maybe that would make it bouncy. :)
And hooray for flower season!
